Northwest Rubber & Plastics Research & Design Institute Co.,Ltd. subsidiary of Chemchina Academy of science, which is a member of China National Chemical Corporation, specializes in research, development and production of rubber seals, special-purpose rubber materials, and rubber and plastic products.
The corporation is located in the Xianyang High-tech Development Zone, facing Xi’an International Airport and Longhai Railway to the north and Lianhuo Expressway (Xi’an-Baoji Expressway) to the south. It covers an area of 78,000-square-meter, hiring 695 employees, including 275 technical specialists.
西北橡胶塑料研究设计院有限公司是中国化工科学研究院旗下研究设计院所，隶属中国化工集团公司，是国内专业从事橡胶密封制品、特种橡胶制品、橡胶专用材料研发与生产的科技型企业。地处陕西省咸阳市高新区，北临西安国际航空港和陇海铁路，南依连霍高速公路（西宝高速公路），现占地面积7.8万平方米，职工总数695人，专业技术人员275人。
It was founded in 1965 to establish a rubber products research center and reorganized in 1999. It gets involved with rubber physical and chemical properties analyzing, rubber materials and products aging storage research and production of engineering rubber products, rubber anti-corrosion products and polymer coatings. Its research fields range from aviation, aerospace, tunnel projects, coal, oil field chemical fiber,transportation etc.
It has 1,033 scientific and technological developments, among which 69 awards are major scientific results in national, ministerial and provincial levels.
西北橡胶塑料研究设计院有限公司前身为西北橡胶工业制品研究所，成立于1965年8月，是原化工部直管的科研院所，1999年7月转制为企业。
西北橡胶塑料研究设计院有限公司主要从事橡胶材料配合及应用技术研究，橡胶物化性能分析测试，橡胶材料及制品老化贮存期研究，橡胶密封制品、特种橡胶制品、橡塑制品及粒料、工程橡胶制品、橡胶防腐衬里、高分子涂料、混炼胶料等产品的研发生产。配套领域涉及航空、航天、隧道工程、煤炭、油田、化纤、交通运输等众多领域。
累计取得科研成果1033项，其中69项获得国家级、部级、省级成果奖。
It contains the National Rubber Sealing Products Quality Supervision & Inspection Center, the National Accreditation Rubber Seals Testing Laboratory, National Special Rubber Products Information Center, National Technical Committee for the Standardization of Rubber and Rubber Products,Sealing Products Technical Subcommittee, and the National Technical Committee for the Standardization of Hydro-pneumatic, Sealing Device Technical Subcommittee.
