The Lanzhou Chemical Research Center (LCRC) of China Petroleum and Natural Gas Co., LTD. (PetroChina), locates in the western suburb of Lanzhou city, an important city on the ancient Silk Road along the Yellow River, was established in December 2006. Its predecessor was the Lanzhou Chemical Research Institute, which was founded in 1958. It is now subordinated to the Petrochemical Research Institute (PRI) of PetroChina. As an important research and development force for petrochemical branch of PetroChina, LCRC has developed into a comprehensive petrochemical research unit integrating synthetic rubbers, synthetic resins, chemical catalysts, oil refining catalysts, refining process, environmental protection, analysis & detection and standards, scientific & technological information and patents, etc.
坐落于黄河岸畔、古丝绸之路重镇兰州市西郊的中国石油天然气股份有限公司兰州化工研究中心成立于2006年12月, 其前身是创建于1958年的兰州化工研究所，现隶属中国石油天然气股份有限公司石油化工研究院。是一家集合成橡胶、合成树脂、化工催化剂、炼油催化剂、炼化工艺、环境保护、分析检测与标准、科技信息与专利等专业为一体的综合性石油化工科研单位，现已发展成为了中国石油炼化业务重要研发力量。
At present, LCRC have 465 permanent employees, among them 2 are granted Special Allowance from the State Council, 1 is national-level candidate for the new century multi-million talent project, 1 is senior technical expert of CNPC; 8 are first-level technical experts of PRI; 9 are secondary technical experts of PRI, 13 are professor-level senior engineers and 159 are senior engineers, more than 220 have master degree or above.
截止2018年4月，中心有正式员工465名，其中，享受政府特殊津贴2名；新世纪百千万人才工程国家级人选1名；中国石油集团公司高级技术专家1名；石油化工研究院一级技术专家8名；石油化工研究院二级技术专家9名，教授级高工13名，高工159名；硕士及以上人员220余名。
It has good scientific research platforms and R&D conditions with 1 post doctoral research station, 2 doctoral programs and 4 master programs. There are 1 Jointly-built State Key Laboratory; 3 Key Laboratories (engineering research center) of China Federation of Petroleum and Chemical Industry; 1 Key Laboratory of CNPC; 4 Pilot Research Bases of CNPC and 10 other National, CNPC , Provincial and Ministerial Technical Institutions. It also has two core journals of "Synthetic Rubber Industry" and "Petrochemical Technology and Application”.
中心拥有良好的科研平台及研发条件：博士后科研工作站1个、博士点2个、硕士点4个；共建国家重点实验室1个；中国石油和化工联合会重点实验室（工程研究中心）3个；中国石油重点实验室1个；中国石油中试研究基地4个；国家、集团公司和省部级专业技术机构10个；《合成橡胶工业》和《石化技术与应用》核心期刊2个。
It has made more than 300 important scientific research achievements, of which it has won 2 state special awards for scientific and technological progress, 6 second class awards, 13 third class awards, 1 golden patent award for invention, and more than 200 provincial and ministerial science and technology progress awards. More than 1300 patents have been applied with more than 600 authorized pieces.
中心累计取得300余项重要科研成果，其中获国家科技进步特等奖2项，二等奖6项，三等奖13项，发明专利金奖1项，获省部级科技进步奖200余项已累计申请专利1300件，授权600余件。
